My New Blog

www.CnnMoney.com recently did an article on how Americans are wanting smaller homes. As they put it “After years of growth, the Census Bureau recently reported that median new home size fell to 2,135 square feet in 2009 after peaking at more than 2,300 earlier in the decade. The article also points out ”that consumers don't ask for as much for spaces devoted to single purposes, such as media rooms for watching videos and game rooms for shooting pool. Instead, the requests are for rooms with shared uses.”.

This article also took the time to point out that American’s are adding appliances. 90% of all homes have centralized AC. Which seems weird, I would assume it would be 100%. Who would build a new home and not have centralized AC?? 63% of all homes have centralized ac, up from 52% a decade ago.

While this article is good reading. We all should know this was coming. America’s Economy is going thru a hard time. With this change, comes Americans adapting. We all need to think more wisely about our financial decision and save money where ever we can. This is the biggest example of this. Even after the economy bounces back, I believe we will all have learned a HUGE lesson. Bigger is not always betters!
