An Allen man faces a theft charge after police say he stole about $1,500 worth of jewelry as a real estate agent showed him a Frisco home last week.

At least four other North Texas law enforcement agencies want to interview the 53-year-old man for similar theft cases in their cities, Frisco police said Monday.

Frisco identified the suspect as Steven Breed, who was out on bail Monday.

Breed is expected to be charged with theft $1,500-$20,000, Frisco police said.

Frisco police arrested Breed Thursday afternoon just minutes after a realtor showed him a home in Frisco.

"The realtor had walked him through a home on Wednesday," said Frisco police Sgt. Adam Henderson on Monday. "After that, the realtor noticed a crime bulletin alerting realtors about this guy. At about the same time, the guy called back wanting a second showing of the home on Thursday."

The realtor called Frisco police and a second showing in the 5000 block of Foard Drive in Frisco with police on surveillance was scheduled.

While walking through the house on Thursday, Breed separated himself from the realtor, police said. At that time, Breed is accused of taking one ring and 10 other pieces of jewelry from the house.

When he walked out of the house, Breed was arrested by Frisco police. Authorities said they also found the stolen property on him.

If convicted, Breed faces a maximum of two years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

This is something to keep in mind when showing homes.
