UGH!!!  I cant fit my website link into the box in Twitter!!!  Or It is way to long to put in my Facebook status box.  Am I even getting any Traffic by posting these links???   Stop worrying, all you have to do is make a Short URL for your blog, listing or any webpage.  This amazing site is called Bit.ly.  This free site allows you to make a short URL for any webpage or link.  Think about that for a minute, you can make a short link to a Yahoo article(webpage) and post it on twitter.  And you can actually monitor how many people click on it.  Or how about when you post a link for your MLS listing.  Most likely your MLS system does not tell you how many people click on your listing link, but this will.  Here are the benefits of Bit.ly:

1. Its Free, so why not use it!!
2. It monitors, the number of clicks
3. It tells you where the clicks come from, google, yahoo, your website, etc.
4. For your Iphone lovers!!!  It automatically makes a QR code for you
5. It shows you the comments on facebook and Likes

For us, Social Media is Marketing.  Make sure you know how successful your marketing (blogs and links) is by tracking the traffic it causes.  And to monitor the Traffic of your website you have to check out Google Analytics.
