My New Blog

If you are like me you have said such intelligent things as "Twitter is Stupid", "I don't understand Twitter", "Twitter is a piece of #%$"!!!!  For quiet some time I had no idea how to use Tiwtter or what its use was.  Facebook, now that I understand.  But Twitter, I'm lost.  So after some work and researched I finally figured out why I should be on twitter.  And I wrote a blog called: 5 Reasons Why You have To Be On Twitter. TWEET TWEET.  Now that I figured why I should be on Twitter, I moved on to my next challenge: How to Use Twitter.  Twitter has some great uses and here are the major ways you can use Twitter:

Timeline

When looking at your home page the Timeline is your first Tab at the top.  The timeline includes all the post(tweets) of people that you Follow.  This is in order based on newest to oldest. 

@Mentions  

The next Tab is the @Mentions tab.  By clicking on this Tab you can look at all the tweets that included your Twitter ID.  So for me I can look at all the Tweets that mention @DaveMortgageGuy.  This is an awesome tool, you can actually see who is talking about you or maybe retweeting a tweet you posted. 

ReTweets  

After @Mentions comes Retweets, this will give you the option to look at any tweets that were retweeted by the persons you follow and even any of your tweets that were retweeted by some one else.  Wow, that is a lot of usage of the word "ReTweet"!!! 

Searches   

This is a simple one, it saves all the searches you do.  So lets say you want to Search for the key words "Sugar Land Real Estate"  and would like to check this same search often, this is where you would do it.  

Lists  

You can make a List of Topics to follow and be part of other lists.   

How to Communicate on Twitter  

Put your cursor over any tweet and you will see the options of ReTweet and Reply.  You can actually replay to someone's Tweet or you can post a Tweet of someone else's by clicking on "ReTweet". 

Also Don't Forget there is the Search Option at the Top, you can use this like any other search engine.  Put in Key Words and see what comes up.  The Key to Twitter is that it works on almost real time.  Meaning when some writes something it comes up immediately.  In theory Twitter is your best source for immediate news.  It is also beneficial for following local news, partners and finding possible clients.  Remember you can use the Search option at the top to look up maybe " looking to buy a home" or "I hate my real estate agent".  If they hate theirs they may LOVE you.  Try to love twitter and it will love you back.
