I recently came across a great article on how to improve your Linkedin Profile.  Linkedin is just one more great website to improve your internet presence.  It allows you to talk about yourself, your expertise, etc.  It is like your resume on the Web!!  Here are 5 tips to improve your Linkedin Profile:

1. Use Your Keywords In Your Headline-   This is a genius suggestion, your headline is usually, your title and company you are with.  But did you know you can actually write up to 130 characters in your headline.  So put keywords in there, maybe the area you specialize in  ex. Subdivision, city, town, etc.  This headline appears in Linkedin when showing you, so make this attention grabbing or stand out. 

2. Keywords in Your Summary- When writing your summary include keywords.  This helps you get found, but it also helps explain what you are an "expert" at. 

3. Customize Your Website Options- Linkedin allows you to post websites.  You can have up to 3 websites under this section in your profile, so take advantage of them.  But your blog, Facebook and fan page, etc.  You do not have to put Twitter, Linkedin  has a spot for Twitter right under your websites.  You can also customize the title of the website, just choose "other" under the drop down menu

4. Optimize your Profile with Keywords- if there is a place to type, go to town using keywords!!

5. Use all the Characters!- Linkedin allows you 2,000 characters for summary, 500 for specialties, 2000 for position descriptions, 1,000 for interests, etc.  Take advantage of this and write as much as you can with as many keywords you can.  But, make it look good! 

Bonus:  Buttons- This is one I came up with my self.  Use Buttons.  Don't make someone look for you on Linkedin, show them where you are on Linkedin.  How to make Buttons.
